Jerrid Neal’s Approach to Therapy
Jerrid’s approach to counseling is to be responsive to the uniqueness of each client. The foundation for his approach is a strong belief that every person is born with immense intrinsic value and is therefore worthy of his very best as a counselor. Jerrid strives to create trusting and caring relationships as he views therapy as a collaborative journey toward the discovery of alternative possibilities where none were recognized before. Jerrid uses an integrative approach to helping his clients, which includes Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, and other modalities

After completing a dual degree program at Concordia University Chicago Jerrid has achieved licensure for both Professional Counseling and School Counseling. Jerrid has experience working with children and adolescents in the school setting and in private practice. He also enjoys working with adults, couples and families. Between his time in the clinical setting and his time as a volunteer on a crisis line, Jerrid has experience with a wide range of mental health issues, including relationship issues, anxiety, depression, anger management, self-esteem, self-harm, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder.
Outside of the clinical setting, Jerrid enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, kayaking, reading, exercising, volunteering in his community and learning more about the interventions that will help his clients. Jerrid also has studied philosophy and theology extensively and he has a passion for integrating psychology and faith/spirituality
