More About Dr. Dorren

Whether it be through providing traditional therapy or coaching services, my goal is to help clients reach levels of personal healing and relational and career satisfaction they have not experienced before.

About Dr. Dorren

I have had the honor of working alongside clients as they strive towards their personal, professional, relational and spiritual goals for over 30 years and have been with Heritage Professional Associates for over 20.  My desire is to create a comfortable, warm environment where clients can feel understood, encouraged, yet also challenged to make the adjustments necessary to reach their goals.  My approach is eclectic.  Although I utilize theories and techniques from a number of different perspectives such as Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, ACT, IFS, Family Systems and Polyvagal, my belief is that not one approach is optimal for all clients. Therefore I attempt to use tools and perspectives that best match the client’s personality, experience and objectives in seeking therapy. I provide individual therapy for adults and teens struggling with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, grief/loss and trauma related issues.  I also enjoy and have extensive experience working with married couples who are in crisis or simply desiring to grow closer in intimacy with their partner.  I also work with pre-married couples looking to begin their lives together on firm relational foundations.  Prior to my days with Heritage I was the Executive Director of a Residential Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center in Southern California.  My passion to help those struggling with addiction remains strong whether it be alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, relationships etc.  I also firmly believe in the healing power of humor and laughter and welcome such exchanges in therapy when appropriate.

Lastly, I am also passionate about coaching artists in the music industry.Having co-managed my own daughter for eight years as she pursued a music career in Nashville, New York City and Los Angeles, I recognize the specific mental health challenges the music industry presents for artists and their families. My desire is to help educate and navigate the artist and their loved ones through this uniquely difficult and rewarding profession.
