David is completing his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton College. He is supervised by Dr. Kim Lodewyk (Ph.D.) on the Clinical Therapy Team through the Heritage Trauma-Focused Treatment Center.

About David OConnor

David is a Doctoral Therapy Extern who mainly works with adolescents, young adults, and adults. His clinical interests include utilizing evidence-based interventions to treat Trauma, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, and Substance Use. David also enjoys working with LGBTQ+ people and individuals navigating religious and spiritual identity conflicts. He has previous experience providing inpatient care across the lifespan and psychological assessment to court-involved adolescents and young adults. 

His goal as a therapist is to ensure that his clients feel unjudged and accepted for who they are. He seeks to understand the symptoms and root causes of their distress and suffering to help empower them toward self-understanding and improve their psychological well-being. David’s doctoral research centers on Sexual and Gender minorities and Religious Trauma.
