When not practicing therapy, Genève enjoys the outdoors, art, and exploring different cultures and traditions. She has completed research addressing empowerment and development strategies across cultures aimed at addressing global poverty.
About Dr. Hein
Genève is Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor experienced in working with children, adolescents, and young adults with acute and chronic psychiatric issues providing individual, family, and group therapies. Genève regularly utilizes expressive modalities – imagery, journaling, and other creative tools to assist clients in self-discovery growth. Genève believes in empowering individuals to find meaningful solutions to life challenges through developing personal strengths and acknowledging clients’ distinctive identities.
In addition to practicing at Heritage Professional Associates, Genève is the AVP of Emotional Wellbeing Programs at a social service agency overseeing clinical and administrative programmatic needs. Her past roles have been Administrative Director and Clinical Director of psychiatric hospitals and outpatient centers. She routinely provides training and educational opportunities about trauma/trauma services.
Genève received a PhD in International Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and earned a MA in Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University and a MA in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam.
