Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a comprehensive treatment designed to help develop skills in these areas, with the overarching goal of helping you to live a more meaningful life. We do this with a variety of treatment strategies:

  • Individual Therapy: to find that compassionate place of choice for learning from our mistakes and individualizing a valued-living plan.

  • Phone consultation: to support making the hard decisions that will grow your life in the direction you want it to go. 

  • Consultation to the Therapist: that's for us, but really its for you too because the best therapist is a humble receiver!

  • DBT Skills Group: This discussion-based class is a safe space for learning and practicing skills for regulating our attention, our emotions, our relational choices, and more! Specifically DBT covers four different modules of skills content:

  • Mindfulness: growing in your capacity to nonjudgmentally sit with what is, and only what is, right in this very moment.

  • Distress Tolerance: growing in your capacity to sit with strong uncomfortable emotions without turning to those strategies that cause more damage and pain in your life.

  • Emotion Regulation: growing in your capacity to recognize emotions, see their value, and move through them without being overwhelmed!

  • Interpersonal Effectiveness: growing in your capacity for intimacy through choice, conflict, and care.
