Acceptance Commitment Therapy
Preoccupied by regrets over the past and fear of the future? Losing perspective on who you want to be? Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) is designed to aid individuals in defining what is most important to them and making movement toward those values while decreasing the struggle with pain in our lives. While DBT emphasizes the teaching of skills, ACT is all about learning how to flexibly respond with those skills to the moment. This has been applied to many difficulties from trauma recovery to pain management to depression and anxiety.
