Sarah Rogers, PsyD, LCP

Dr. Rogers’s Approach To Therapy

Dr. Rogers combines empathetic, attuned listening with evidence-based treatment methods, ensuring that she is sensitive to each client’s unique context and differences.  She works from a client-centered foundation, rooted in the adaptive information processing model (AIP) which undergirds EMDR. When appropriate, Dr. Rogers also integrates CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) with intentionality.  In each session, she works with clients to identify areas of resilience, develop self-compassion, and establish practical steps to reach therapy goals.  Dr. Rogers values forming authentic and collaborative relationships with clients as they move towards growth and healing.

About Dr. Rogers

Dr. Sarah Rogers is a licensed clinical psychologist who brings decades of experience and a heartfelt passion to her work of healing the wounds of trauma and decreasing the impact of anxiety.  She works with individuals from adolescence through older adulthood and treats a broad range of concerns with expertise.  Prior to joining Heritage in 2014, she trained in a variety of settings including intensive outpatient programming and college counseling centers.  Dr. Rogers also completed specialized training in order to offer clients the highest level of care in areas such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for the treatment of single-incident and complex PTSD, other trauma-related symptoms, panic, phobias, and performance enhancement.  She is also certified to offer the Safe and Sound Protocol, a program designed to assist clients coping with nervous system dysregulation, sensory processing differences, and stress-related physical conditions, among other challenges.

When she’s not in the office, Sarah enjoys exploring the great outdoors by hiking, biking, or beach combing.  She can often be found perusing bookstores, in conversations with friends over a good meal, or rescuing vintage furniture from nearby curbs and  estate sales.   A native of North Carolina, Sarah survives the Chicago winters by cheering for Tar Heel basketball and dreaming of dogwood trees and azaleas.
