Linda Lake, PsyD, LCP

Dr. Lake’s Approach To Therapy

Dr. Lake integrates a variety of treatment approaches, using her intellectual creativity and experience to formulate unique treatment plans for each client. For example, with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), Dr. Lake has learned from extensive experience that many mental and physical health symptoms may be tied to trauma, especially early trauma. As she gets to know a client, she listens carefully and empathically for traumatic events, and for the potential absence of feeling safe and protected by those closest to them. Thanks to neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to heal itself, Dr. Lake can often use advanced effective therapies such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Flash, and Brainspotting to change memories permanently—painful memories that were distressing or even disabling before treatment.
